Celebrating 56 Years of Flag Football, Community, and Character Development
Founded in 1969, the Pleasanton Junior Football League (PJFL) has proudly served the Pleasanton and Tri-Valley area for over five decades. We’re a co-ed, non-profit youth sports organization dedicated to teaching young athletes the fundamentals of football and cheer while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and respect for others.
Whether you’re brand new to the sport or looking to build on years of experience, PJFL offers a supportive, safe, and inclusive environment where kids can grow on and off the field.
PJFL Hawks Tackle Football is back for players ages 7–14! Join us for a full-contact season focused on skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Practices begin July 14, and players are placed by birthdate, weight, and experience. Registration is refundable (less 10%) up until the first practice day.
Our 8v8 Co-ed Flag Football league is open to 2nd–8th graders, with NFL-branded jerseys, shorts, flags, and football camps included. Games run August–November at Ken Mercer Sports Park, with evaluations in July and a fun Jamboree in September. Fees: $335 (Resident) / $385 (Non-Resident).
Open to boys and girls in grades 2–8, our 7v7 division helps players stay active in the off-season while building football IQ, teamwork, and confidence.
Bring the spirit! PJFL Cheerleading is open to participants ages 7–14 and practices start July 14. Teams are formed based on birthdate, weight, and experience—not grade or buddy requests. Join the squad that brings the energy to every Hawks game day!
Want to make a difference on and off the field? PJFL is looking for enthusiastic Head and Assistant Coaches for all six tackle divisions in the 2025 season. No experience needed—just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn! PJFL provides free USA Football Youth Coach Certification, CPR/First Aid training, and background checks.

All PJFL practices and home games take place at two of Pleasanton’s premier athletic facilities: Ken Mercer Sports Park and Patelco Sports Complex. These well-maintained venues provide a safe, spacious, and family-friendly environment for athletes to learn, play, and grow.
Ken Mercer Sports Park, located in the heart of Pleasanton, is known for its expansive fields, modern amenities, and ample parking—making it an ideal home base for our practices and flag football games.
Patelco Sports Complex, with its professional-grade turf fields and convenient layout, hosts many of our tackle football games and larger league events.
